Kendrick Lamar fans are relentless in their teasing of Drake.
As reported by the Toronto Star, a severe rainfall advisory issued on Sunday, July 14, continued through Monday and into Tuesday. The torrential rain affected Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), nearly breaking records with almost four inches of rain. This heavy downpour marked the fifth wettest day in the area’s history, leading to road and highway closures and widespread power outages. Approximately 167,000 customers of a local Toronto electrical company were left without power, according to CNN. Additionally, about three TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) subway stations experienced flooding, contributing significantly to the water accumulation in nearby areas.
Drake’s opulent Toronto mansion, famously known as “The Embassy,” was not spared from the downpour. The rapper shared a video on his Instagram story showing yellowish water rushing into his home. Other images revealed that his basement, home to his hall of jerseys, was heavily affected. Despite the stressful situation, Drake tried to maintain a sense of humor, captioning his Instagram story with, “This better be espresso martini.”
Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar fans seized the opportunity to troll Drake mercilessly. Despite the flood being unrelated to their musical rivalry, they flooded social media with jokes. According to AllHipHop, numerous fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to taunt the “Push Ups” artist. One user joked, “Kendrick Lamar not recycling so global warming floods Drake’s mansion… He might really be the GOAT.” Another quipped, “Kendrick brought the biblical flood to Drake.”
