Background:
Compton is Dr. Dre’s third and final studio album, inspired by the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton, which chronicles the rise of N.W.A. Dre originally planned to release Detox as his follow-up to 2001, but after years of delays, he scrapped it and created Compton instead. He described it as his “grand finale.”
